Occasionally you might wish to remove a series of stray nodes or lines within a feature.  This typically occurs when you have merged two or more polygons from the Land Registry and there appear to be odd nodes along a merged boundary.

Click on draw and select a shape.  

Draw a temporary shape such as area or rectangle around the stray nodes - this can be any shape it just needs to enclose the nodes.

When complete click on finish.

Select the feature you have drawn around the stray nodes hold down shift and select the original feature. Click on the merge function.

The stray nodes will no longer be there.
