Use this template to generate values from the Peatland Carbon Code and Natural England's Peatland Condition assessment.

Each feature produced on the Land App allows for two assessment values:

  • Peatland Code GHG Emission Factor (tCO2e/ha/yr) are calculated using the Peatland Carbon Codes Pre-restoration Assessment units (see Field Protocol here).

  • Restoration GHG Emission Factor (tCO2e/ha/yr) is calculated from the Natural Englands Condition Assessment table, as part of Natural England's Nature For Climate Peatland Grant Scheme (see Annex 3, page 77 here)

Firstly create a new plan by using the New, Use template.

Select the Peat Condition Assessment template.

Nest select your data import type.

You can also select Skip, just draw if you wish to either draw your own features or copy features from a data layer.

Name your plan then click on Finish.

If you wish to copy copy a feature from a Data Layer, make the layer visible select the feature, right click and copy to plan.

Once you have features in your plan you can edit these by splitting, merging etc.

With a feature selected on your map you can now assign a Peatland feature code by assigning a use by clicking on Change.

You can search for a code or expand the categories.

You also have the ability to assign a pre-assessment unit.

Once you have an assigned use you will then be able to see the restoration emission factor data.
