Before You Start
Permissions: You must be the current owner of the map, an organisation administrator or team administrator to initiate a transfer.
The Recipient: The new owner has to be an existing collaborator, team member, or org admin on the map.
Step-by-Step Transfer
Access the sharing setting. This can be done from the maps dashboard or when in a map.
In the current collaborators section click on change owner
On the following screen you will be presented with the different options. You can search users that have access to the map, select from the display of Current collaborators or Members from teams.
Confirm the Transfer
An email will be sent to the new Owner to confirm the transfer.
Key Things to Know
Situation | Detail |
If the map is transferred within an organisation | The team tags will be retained, and the original owner will not lose access if they are part of those teams |
If transferring to another organisation or to a free user | The Team tags will be removed and the original owner will be added as a collaborator to retain access however the new owner can decide to remove. |
Reversing the Change | Once you transfer ownership, only the new owner can give it back. |
