How to find and download plans to Land App Mobile

You will have been invited to a map by Foundation for Common Land and this map will contain a plan with your survey points. To access this on Land App Mobile please note you will need to complete the following download steps whilst you have a connection. Open your map and pull up the drawer at the bottom of the screen.

Click on the entry that shows how many plans are on device. On the following screen you will see all of the plans that are available.

You can search and filter the available plans by template to narrow the list. For example, filter by "SFI Moorland Survey".

To download a plan to the device, click on the download icon.

When downloaded the entry will no longer show the download icon and will also show a tick denoting it's on device.

How to complete your survey data

To open the plan, click on the plan name and it will open.

On the plan you will see your survey point data. To edit, select a point on screen, if needed use two fingers to zoom in to the point of interest. It will highlight and the bottom panel will show the current information about it.

To edit click on the pencil icon next to the current assigned use to assign a soil type.

You will then be able to add the Survey information of Soil Type.

With your available options showing in a list for you to select.

Once selected all other attributes to complete will be shown for you to populate and the point will no longer appear as "to-do"

You may need to drag up from the bottom of the screen to ensure all survey fields are completed.

Each question has three answers, please refer to the handbook for definitions. There are also tips available when you click on the "?"

Once a point has been edited (soil type changed), the colour of the point will change to blue. This means that you can see which points are incomplete at a glance by looking at which points are not blue.

If needed, you can redraw or delete a point. This may well be the case if your point is in a difficult location. Please DO NOT PUT YOURSELF AT RISK. You can redraw in the point (to another spot within the same grid square) using the following instructions.

With the point selected you will see the two options. To delete, select the Bin icon.

Then confirm deletion by selecting DELETE

To redraw, select Re-draw.

The existing point will be removed you will see an option to Add point. You can then drag the point into position and select Add point. After which you can then complete all of your attributes.

If you do do need to redraw please confirm why by filling out the final “Reason for moving point” question

If the whole surrounding area is unsafe, click “10ha unsafe” under the Soil Type

How to take photos

This guidance shows how you can take photos and this guidance how to link to your plan. Please note you will need to navigate back to the main map screen to do this as you cannot take photos from within a plan.

All the data will be synchronising with the web-app version of Land App so data can be viewed in this and Land App mobile. Please note the synch will require that you have a stable internet connection. If you are working offline, please open the app at a later point when you have a stable internet connection to trigger the syncing.
