This guidance is to support the mapping of farms that are asked to complete a Nature Reporting submission, but are farming on tenanted land, hold short-term cropping licences, or have multiple, disparate holdings under one SBI number.
This process will require the users to complete Steps 1 and 2 outlined before:
Creating a "pin-on-map" for each field that is currently tenanted.
We understand that farms may be spread across a landscape, growing in multiple fields over a large area - this means that mapping these fields can be time-consuming.
For the Land App team to create either a field parcel or an automated Baseline Habitat Assessment, we ask these users to create a simple map with a singular "pin" (or point feature) on each field within their management.
By using this service, it is expected that the farmer has permission to create maps of the farmed area.
Video Overview:
Stages Outlined in Video to follow:
Create a new Plan via the "Draw Freehand" function (guidance here)
Draw a "Point feature" for every field that is being farmed (guidance here)
Drop a "point" in the centre of each field that you are farming/cropping.
Click once for every field you want to add
Hit "Finish" when completed.
Add 'support@thelandapp.com' as a collaborator to this map (guidance here). Please note, you will need to create this map from your own Land App account to share it with the Land App support team. Once the baseline is ready, the ownership can be transferred to the farmer.
Drop us a message via the Support Channel with a message saying:
"Hello, Support team. I would like help turning my pins on a map into a Baseline Habitat Assessment. My map is https://go.thelandapp.com/map/699cxxxxxxxxxx780493eb
Thanks"
The Land App Support team will be in touch when this is processed
Once the Support Team has notified you that your map is now ready
Please check that you are happy with the Baseline Habitat Map or Field Parcels that have been created (see here for fuller guidance).
Then complete your submission by following Step 6: Submit your plan(s)
